[NCKU] Regular Chinese Classes 2016

Posted by in Course

To accommodate different language learning styles, small group (6~12 people) and individual (one-on-one) classes are offered. The curriculum is designed for a two-year period, with the goal of developing listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation skills.

Classes include 10 hours of comprehensive Chinese language lessons and 5 hours of electives, for a total of 15 hours per week. Language classes last 2 hours per day. Electives include language skill practice and cultural curriculum. Each elective class lasts one/two hour(s) every week.

Small group classes have from 6 to 12 people. Placement test scores determine student placement into one of nine levels ranging from no Chinese language skills to advanced skills.

Individual classes are designed according to the different needs and abilities of individual students. Teachers adjust teaching methods and materials to suit student learning circumstances.

Elective classes are offered in language subjects including writing, plays, Chinese readings, selected Chinese literature readings, news reading, and Chinese idioms, along with cultural studies including calligraphy, painting, and Tai-chi.
